2023 - Present

Product Realization Lab Course Assistant 
Stanford University | Palo Alto, CA

  • Lead 2,000+ students through product design, development, and manufacturing processes.  

  • Teach students to safely utilize machines shop, foundry, plastics lab, rapid prototyping lab, and welding lab.

  • Coach groups on projects for ME203 Product Realization: Design & Manufacturing – a foundational course in mechanical design, prototyping and manufacturing using mill, lathe, sand casting, welding, and metal forming.  

2020 - 2022

Lead Design Engineer
Design that Matters | Redmond, WA

  • Collaborated with 20+ Médecins Sans Frontierès (MSF) stakeholders stationed in over 8 countries to identify qualitative design requirements for a newborn warmer to be implemented in low resource settings (LRS).

  • Developed a rigorous set of technical product requirements and specifications for the newborn warmer.

  • Designed, fabricated, assembled, and finished two works-like, looks-like newborn warmer prototypes

  • Conducted user interviews and simulations on a field visit to MSF project sites in Kano, Nigeria.  

2019

Research and Development Intern
Retia Medial | Valhalla, NY

  • Optimized portable blood pressure monitor (TouchBP) performance through mechanical and software development.

  • Developed MATLAB software to signal process raw ppg and load cell data collected from TouchBP device.

  • Designed and conducted trials to gather data from TouchBP in preparation for IRB clinical trial protocol optimization.

2018

Medical Equipment Technician 
Engineering World Health | Arusha, Tanzania

  • Participated in instructional training focused on troubleshooting and repairing 27 types of medical equipment.

  • Conducted medical equipment repairs on 88 devices, enhancing the operational efficiency of Tengeru hospital.

  • Designed, constructed, and installed partitions in minor surgical ward, inhibiting the spread of infections and HIV.

  • Created and implemented standard operating procedure manuals in English and Swahili to provide instructions on proper use of medical equipment that was donated without operation instruction manuals.

I received my Master's Degree in Engineering with a sub-focus on Design Impact from Stanford University. During my studies, I focused on design research with the d.School, design and manufacturing processes, and biodesign innovation.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University. In addition, I received a certificate in Global Development Engineering - focusing on engineering solutions in a global health context.
